I would have expected better of PETA, which I have supported for years because of their stand against the use of live animals in experiments and cosmetic testing, and their lobbying for more humane treatment of farm animals. But you would think PETA of all organizations would run a no-kill shelter!
Here I only know of a pit bull mix, and she is a sweetie. I don't know why abusive dog owners who allow their pit bulls to run loose and bite people aren't put in prison (dare I say, euthanized, even?) rather than the dogs put to death or banned.
But Chloe is beautiful. You are lucky to have her.
Cheers to Chloe, and to the memory of Rusty, one of the coolest, nicest dogs I've ever known. He was a pit (he'd be long dead of old age by now), and he broke me of the stereotype forever. This story is sickening.
Thank you both for your kind comments. It's a shame that PETA is not what
it's purported to be, and that most people are not aware of it. They
seem to have a special dislike for APBTs and their ilk.
